Discover Arts Award
*Undertake complete Discover Arts Award training as part of a term (10 weeks) of circus skills classes at a suitable location of your choice.
– Discover different art forms.
– Take part in an arts activity every week and begin to develop physical literacy through engagement and interaction with circus equipment. Grow in confidence and skill in a range of circus disciplines including spinning plates, diablo, poi, flower sticks, hula hoop, stilts, tight rope, walking globe and unicycle.
– Meet a developing young artist, watch a short performance and undertake a question and answer session.
– Share the newly developed skills with an audience and reflect on the experience.
As a supporter
* Part A – Discover
– Learn a new art form through participation in a one-off circus skills workshop at a suitable location of your choice. Grow in confidence and skill in a range of circus disciplines through active engagement with spinning plates, diablo, poi, flower sticks, hula hoop, tight rope, walking globe and unicycle
* Part B – Find Out
– Meet a developing young artist, watch a short performance and undertake a question and answer session.
– Come and see a performance by the internationally renowned Albert & Friends Instant Circus performing troupe and meet some of the young artists (seasonal performances only – please enquire)
* Part C – Share
– Participate in a half day of circus skills workshop at a suitable location of your choice. Grow in confidence and skill in a range of circus disciplines through active engagement with spinning plates, diablo, poi, flower sticks, hula hoop, tight rope, walking globe and unicycle. Put on a performance to share the newly acquired skills to wow classmates and parent.
Explore Arts Award

– Reflect on the arts exploration project, present it and get feedback about all your wonderful achievements.

Collaborate in planning and creating a performance to share the newly acquired.
At the moment we are predominantly offering Bronze, Silver and Gold awards as a supporting organisation. However if you or your students are interested in completing one of these awards please feel free to contact us for more information. This will be assessed on an individual basis and only undertaken if we can be sure of the persons commitment to the project.
Bronze Arts Award
* Part A – Take Part

* Part D – Arts Skill Share
– Participate in a day of circus skills workshop at a suitable location of your choice. Grow in confidence and skill in a range of circus disciplines through active engagement with spinning plates, diablo, poi, flower sticks, hula hoop, tight rope, walking globe, stilts and unicycle. Collaborate in planning and creating a performance to share the newly acquired techniques.
– Work along side a member of the team to develop and deliver part of a circus skills workshop.
Silver Arts Award
* Unit 1 – Part C
– Come and see a performance by the internationally renowned Albert & Friends Instant Circus performing troupe and meet some of the young artists (seasonal performances only – please enquire).
* Unit 1 – Part D
– Attend a general circus skills workshop with the Albert & Friends Instant Circus performing troupe. Meet emerging new artists, discuss upcoming projects and participate in the workshops to develop new skills or cultivate existing ones. Try your hand at spinning plates, diablo, poi, flower sticks, hula hoop, tight rope, stilts, walking globe and unicycle.
Gold Arts Award
* Unit 1 – Part A
– Ever considered adding circus skills to your repertoire? Circus provides a fascinating medium that compliments many artistic discipline. Attend a general circus skills workshop with the Albert & Friends Instant Circus performing troupe. Participate in workshops to develop new skills or cultivate existing ones. Try your hand at spinning plates, diablo, poi, flower sticks, hula hoop, tight rope, stilts, walking globe and unicycle in the company of emerging young artists.
* Unit 1 – Part B
– Be part of the Albert & Friends Instant Circus team! We are a small team but we achieve a lot, from teaching and performances to participating in a wide range of projects across Europe. Consideration will be undertaken on a case by case basis for those wishing to volunteer their time or undertake a work placement with the organisation.
* Unit 2 – Part D
– Opportunities for young people to plan & deliver their own projects, particularly in the form of relevant master classes with guaranteed participation, or take responsibility for distinct parts of an existing project.
